O.K. - Couldn't find my way back to where I was on that site - sorry - I am not very good at this sort of thing.

However - I found a new way in :

http://www.zoopla.co.uk/house-prices/map/ynysybwl/heol-y-plwyf/CF37-3HY/

Try this and see what you think?

I will search again for where I was before.

Sorry can't help as was only very tiny last time I visited but my mother was born in Ynysybwl Grand parents lived in Augustus Road I believe these were owned by the pit. It is good to hear of Ynysybwl as I remeber having to learn to spell it to give mother's place of birth. Annie your not related to Beasley's or Woodhouses by any chance?

Thanks so much Annie..
Kitchen was at front of the house...modern looking houses for the time i suppose...small frontage to them...I remember my sister and brother going to the school..we had no car so must have been walking distance .
I remember open land..as my Brother got stuck in a bog like pond and lost his boots...
I think only think that an upsatairs window at the front was long and narrow,
..
Thanks so much

Hello Annie...Brilliant !
My Family moved there in the 60s..Dad had a job at Lady Windsor pit.
We had to live in a caravan until the houses were finished so brand new then 1961-2
They were in a long row but no road in front...dividing each front to each house was a wall ...but the wall was not whole it had many bricks missing so looked a bit like a crossword... The house was very near to the pit..
Does this make any sense to you...
Also a primary school quite near
Thankyou
Christine
