Amend that last info slightly.
Fred was posted to Kenya in 1958, probably came back ready for discharge in 1960. So Annie may not have lived with him.

Hi Pauline

My dad was stationed at Mill Hill, home of the Middlesex Regiment.
I think Fred was somewhere else in London.
I grew up in Willesden, not that far from you.

John
There was an army barracks at Mill Hill, around that time, which is not far from Hendon/Cricklewood. Maybe the Army guy was based there. It might help you geographicly.
I used to live ib that area in my distant youth

Thanks to you ladies for your help.

No date for grandmothers death. 1960+ or - 5 years.
Probably North London, Finchley, Hendon. I believe that she lived with mothers brother Frederick Large He was in the army, Captain/Acting Major, Royal Artillery based somewhere in London.

Re the 1911 details which Janet posted.

The address is 58 Walnut Tree Walk but it appears to be some sort of a boarding house.

There are 12 people living there in total but it doesn't look like any of them are connected to Mr. + Mrs. Large.

Edmund Alfred Large died 13th. March 1931, aged 67. Interred at Hendon Park Cemetery, Mill Hill.
This from a photocopy of a In Memoriam card.
Looks like the name Edward/Edmund was interchangeable within the family.
I have a marriage certificate for Annie Elizabeth Hart and Horace John Bull at Christchurch, Brondesbury, Parish of Willesden. London NW10 for Oct. 20, 1903.

I believe that he served in the Boer War in 1901.

If he was in the army he might well have been abroad during the 1901 census.
