I would like to find out his mothers name how do i do that?

Is the birth registered - then birth cert would be useful.

Have you found him on 1871 census as that would give name of father and mother = then check for their marriage

Have you got him on any census

I'd really get the birth cert - all is guesswork otherwise as the name isn't distinctive enough. The only other thing is, do you have his father's name from marriage cert by any chance?

I cant find him on any census but yes he married ada valentine jones in 1890 xx

Get that birth cert! You just need it, sometimes there is just no other way.

have tried to find christopher and bridget west in 1861 without any success. If they did marry in 1841 that would explain why gearge would be in orphanage in 1871?
