I have found this on Times Digital...which makes me think that the 1851 census is incorrect so Robert wasn't married x3...

Lady Blaine widow of Sir Robert Stickney Blaine died at Richmond Lodge, Bath on Tuesday aged 82. She was the daughter of Sir Timothy Vansittart Stonhouse, 14th baronet, and in 1881 married, as his second wife. Mr Blaine who four years later was elected MP for Bath, and was knighted in 1890. He died in 1897.

Ah that solves it, he must have been one of Robert's nephews who were born in Africa.

I am very confused now as I have found the death of a Robert Stickney Blaine (c1842) in 1891 Wandsworth, possibly his son from the first marriage? but cannot find anything for this Robert???

maybe Robert Senior didn't marry the first wife or the boy was put into Boarding school so never with his father?

its definately the correct man, his mother and sister were Jane and Sarah, and some of his siblings did go to South Africa.

1881 is strange, Maude listed as head. On checking the image it doesn't seem to be the correct one.
