Thank you I think this is correct ?

I have Mary Ann's mother on my tree as a Sarah Dowles and have just located a marriage on the London Archives between an Anne Dowles and a Thomas Butteaux in 1808 at Hackney St John's. This church features largely in the Mandy family for bmd's so I think this is the link .

many thanks

I am looking at image of 1861 census on Ancestry, Mary Ann Mandy was born abt 1818 in Bethnal Green.

She appears on this census at 21 Henry Street as the niece of someone who has been transcribed as Thomas C Batteau (I am not altogether sure this is correct!) I read his occupation as independent minister?

Could someone who is good at deciphering these things have a look and see what names they come up with. If I can find him on earlier records I may well be able to open up more generations on my tree.

thanks

Janet
