Hi Lucinda! One confusing fact is that there were two Sarah Ellen Wheats born in in 1892. You have access to my tree which gives you the ancestors of both of them. All the Wheats in North Staffordshire and South Cheshire are descended from Richard Wheat born 1736.

I wonder if she took on the name of Sadie Eugenie after she left Philip. That way she could stay anon so he would'nt find her.

She is certainly Sarah Ellen on the census when she was young.

sorry, not too hot at this and have litle time to devote to it. Philip Faulkner and sarah ellen wheat are my great grandparents. They seperated and Sarah took the children from the marriage. My grandfather is stanley faulkner. We know very little about sarah and philip although my mum remembers sarah. I believe philip thought they moved to the USA but this is not true, although she did visit the USA at least once. We have birth certificates for some of their children but 3 died as babies. Sarah always had an elememt of secrecy surrounding her and i am very keen to trace anyone who may have known of her before her marriage. We always were led to believe her name was sadie eugenie-like i said-quite a character! Does anyone recognise any of these details?

Can you tell us which bits sound like your family please? Not sure what you mean by "What do I do next"?

If it were me I would be looking to buy the relevant birth and marriage certificates and looking for possible deaths. Then again perhaps you were wishing to come forward from Sarah!

You do need to come back and tell us, a bit more specifically, what you are looking for. Your opening post really doesn't say enough.

Tell us exactly what your question is. Ask the question, then give the backgroud information.

Be to the point. Give names, dates and places where known.

Tell us your sources or if it is family sources or assumptions or facts.

Tell us where you have already looked even if your searches were fruitless.

Ask yourself "Have I looked at all the free sources"?

Ask yourself "have I bought the certificates to base my research on fact"?

Finally, regardless of popluar belief a family tree based on fact can't be done for no financial outlay. If you use some-else's research always get the certificates or see the parish records yourself where possible to be sure of the accuracy! Don't accept anyone's typing or research errors as facts!

That looks good Mel. The 1911 that I have posted is the nearest I could find for the name and birth year.

We need Lucinda to come back and tell us what info she has. Did she just assume Manchester because that was the area that the marriage took place in?

The names of the children of the marriage don't help much in identifying if this is the correct family.
