Best advice I can offer is that you either A buy his marriage cert - or B buy some credits for 1911 census to find out A his father's name or B his birthplace.

Guessing is not a good idea if you wish to compile an accurate family tree.............

There is a birth of an Albert William Fisher in 1883 in Hungerford district - which does not include the supposed birthplace of the person being researched.

Births Jun 1883 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fisher Albert William Hungerford 2c 264

Hence my question about how you know where he was born.............

Sorry Paula, my post ended up a long way down! Was only referring to marriage date not being 1932 - was it you or someone else who thought this? A previous marriage was suggested, didn't want anyone heading off down that route.

Paula, he died 1932 I think.
I assume this is their marriage:

Marriages Jun 1907 (>99%)
DOWSE Kate Pewsey 5a 313
FISHER Albert * Pewsey 5a 313

It might be an idea to get the cert and find out his father's name.

Have you checked the 1891 census

Potty

Potty Report 19 Oct 2009 15:34

Albert and Kate's marriage registraition - the certificate should give you his age and his father's name and occupation. Then you can look for him in the census:

Marriages Jun 1907 (>99%)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DOWSE Kate Pewsey 5a 313
FISHER Albert * Pewsey 5a 313

The * means that the transcriber could not read the second name. It is very unclear on the image but looks like William to me.
