John Markham c 1795

I know that my ancestor, John William Markham, is the son of John (from marriage cert) & Sarah. Both he and his father were farriers according to that.

John William was baptised in St Bartholomew, London on 22 Dec 1822. There was an earlier John William, whose birth & baptism appears abt 1821/early 22, but he died 1822 and there seems to have been a sister, Sarah b 1820.

I have found 2 possible marriages for a John & Sarah: Sarah Burton 26/3/1817 in North Leverton, Nottingham; Sarah Calver 21/4/1818 Trimley St Mary, Suffolk. I am inclined to go for the latter because of the children's births. However, I can't find any mention of either of them in 1841 or 1851 to fix birth places etc. I have no idea where John c 1795 was born.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks for looking. I have found a couple of John & Sarahs that might fit but none with anything like the right occupation. I know that no site has all records and I use Ancestry for my records, hence the appeal.

Problem is that both John and Sarah might have died before 1841

Thank you so much everyone - this has to be him. I didn't find Elizabeth's birth because If I'm doing a blind search on Familysearch I start with the parents' first names.
For some reason for some months I've had his John William's parents down as Daniel & Phoebe. I must have got that from someone else's tree. The value of certificates, eh.
Wonderful. Let me tell you that I will soon be ordering ancestrry books for my family trees and this Community already gets huge credit for the help peeps have given me over the time I've been researching.

I have explored the Lowery connection but can't find it at the minute!

Someone else may come up with it though!!!

Well shame Sarah is a Jones, but you do have a rellie there as a witness by the look of it, which may help tie her down.

The above records werent from familysearch - ancestry have images of the actual records now.
