I am trying to find the date of a divorce which I believe was in the latter part of last century. I know the city and names but have no idea how to find when this happened. Hoping someone out there can tell me if it is possible to find this information whether it be from the place the divorce took place or whether I pay and write to London but how do I do this without a date? Thanks

Some are at Kew and some more recent are held by the Courts Service.

Go to Search the Catalogue on their website, put the surname in and use J77 as the reference to search.

The more recent ones are not available for the public to search. The search has to be done by the Courts Service.
