That's good; it's sometimes only takes a name to jog a memory. |

have spoken to my uncle tonight and when I mentioned "Lockley" as possible maiden name he said he was sure that was it and only when i said it did it come back to him .Hoping now to trace her back as Clara Lockley born 1865 in staffs and see if I can find her relatives for him. Thanks for all your help |

Actually have been at a wedding today with Clara Evelyn's son. He may have his mother's birth cert already. It is the son of her sister Alice who has asked me to research this so will now have to extract from the wider family what info they already have to hand. |

Oh thanks everyone that's brilliant ! I'll sift through this now and see what connections I can make. The listing for the family in 1911 is spot on and contains all the names I know of. I don't think that the death is correct though as I believe William was born in 1875 or thereabouts??. I do know that he was killed in a mining accident when the children were relatively young and in fact just realised he is not on the 1911 census so lord knows how the family kept going! |

How about this idea for a start? It should give the mother's maiden name. |

Starting a new search tonight looking for the marriage etc of Clara Jones (married name) born 1865 in Orslow Staffs. Married to William Jones b 1875 and living in Wrockwardine wood Salop in 1901 with son Eric aged 1. I do not know her maiden name and think that she either married quite late or was widowed although no older children living with them. Looked on free bmd and tons of william jones weddings as you might expect. Does anyone have the means to find them using what info I have. Will be hugely grateful for any help . |
