This looks like it could be the same William as mentioned in the 1841 census. However, his mother is married to John Jarvis. Could she have re-married. Also note on the 1841 census, sent previously, there is a Mary Langstaff in the household. Could she be the sister mentioned in the siblings list.

Edit: Likely re-marriage for Ann Longstaff.

Hi I wa born and raised i the village of Eighton Banks Co, Durham Our village "bobby" was PC Longstaff. I know he came from a police family. Also we were all terrified of him. I can try to find further info if you would like.

Hi,
I'm trying to firm up my Longstaff ancestors. I'm starting with George Longstaff.
What we know so far:-
George Longstaff was born 22 March 1860 in Barnard Castle.

His parents were:-
William Longstaff b c1837 Pellington, Lincolnshire (we can't find Pellington and it may be a misheard name)
Winifred Hogan b c1839 Wakefield, Yorks

We have a marriage for William and Winifred in Teesdale 1859.
We also have them in the 1861 census but can not find William, Winifred or George in the 1871 census.

I have George Longstaff's family in the 1891 and 1901 census but not the 1881 census

So I would like to know:-
1. Anything about William, Winifred and George between 1861 and 1881.
2. Did George have any siblings?
3. Anything about the parents of William and Winifred .
