I am stuck! Help please!

My Grandmother was Sarah Griffiths married to David John Davies in 1911. In the 1920 or 1930 they lived in Miners Row and Edward Street Cwmgwrach and I am trying to track down their parents of both Sarah and David.

Sarah Griffiths was one of 7 children and her father was David/ Dafydd Griffiths who was an overman at the colliery . He died 1929 Feb aged 60/61.

Her mother was Susannah ? died 1931 aged about 63and they were quite well off owning a fish/chip shop and had the first car in the village! Apparently they lived in Glannant House in Cwmgwrach.

David John Davies my grandfather and also a miner. was born Mountain Ash and died 22/8/1953 aged 71.
His parents were David and Marged ?- nothing else known!

Does anybody have the IGI or anything similar which might help give some detail please?
I have tried the 1891 Census and many births and gave up!
Any help much appreciated. Thanks! Wendy

Thanks Christine, Ginny! Can't add this thanks after your posts- it just won't work! Thank you - that's a great start! I met one of my Welsh cousins last week for the first time and am fired with enthusiasm for this lost family of mine!

Fantastic help! Very greatful!
