Aha -- well the next step then is to search for

thompson
in Marylebone
living with
james william hannah
thompson

But there are no results - so no children yet by 1911, if that is them.

Then, at FreeBMD

http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.pl

you can search for Thompson births with mother Hart, say 1911-1920.

There are several in Marylebone. Sons William and Robert suggest this may well be your man!

There is a James William Thompson living in St Marylebone yob 1889. I put Hannah in as another household member and this one came up as a match on 1911 census. Sorry haven't enough credits to do more than the basic search.
There were no such matches for London using Catherine as a household member. Hope this helps.

Really, all you can do is order that marriage certificate and see whether the groom's age and father's name/occupation match the father of your James/William.

Because the names are so common, and you're not sure whether he would be listed as James or William, trying to identify him in the 1911 and find who his wife was would be rather a large undertaking and perhaps doomed to failure anyway.

I am trying to find information on my great uncle, James William Thompson born 1888, the twin brother of Robert George Thompson.

James (on the 1890 Census as William James Thompson) and his brother Robert and older sister Lillie Louisa Thompson dob 1885 (my grandmother) were born in St Pancras.Their parents are Robert Thompson dob 1859 and Sarah Burtena dob c1865.

I have traced Robert Thompson but I have limited information about James. BMD lists a James Thompson as marrying either a Catherine de Groot or Hannah Hart in 1907.

Any help would be appreciated.
