I made an error ....... and ahd the image too big, so I couldn't see that there were actually 2 pages to the first image



I do note that she was always unaccompanied.

Hi Sylvia,
No I haven't found her leaving the UK. My lists stop at 1930 or 35 I think.
She married in 1944 in London.
Was alone because husband stayed in Canada. Were there children travelling with her?

No other people with the same surname shown with her


nothing said about "travelling with"


I've just had a look on findmypast to see if there was anything on there in their passenger lists ...... no Rosina Atkinsons showing up.

but doesn't seem to have catalogues to search ................ it's the Canadian equivalent to Ellis Island. Most immigrant to Canada entered through here between 1928 and 1971.


Many sites on war brides ...... but I don't see any that has a general country-wide listing!

I can't find an emigrant listing!


I believe that many war brides came to Canada on naval ships, or liners that were still under contract to the forces.

I think those years are all too late. Think they went soon after the marriage in 1944. Rosina was definitely born in 1923 too.

Yes.
She came back to UK, then went back, but the second time she came back she stayed in the UK.
