Thank you so much for all your help , I only had the information that Jimmy was my nans' cousin and that he played for tottenham and for England. My mum new him and knew he ended up in a wheelchair. We are all from Edmonton, but the older generation is getting smaller and my nan has since passed away. We also had no infos on the Sapsford , so we're lucky to have so much help. Thank you all so much. Leeann

The image for the marriage definitely says Tapsford but I think it may be wrongly transcribed from the original. There is no sign of an Fanny or Emma Tapsford in the 1891 censuss, but there is this Emma Sapsford who seems likely:-

Age: 16
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1875
Relation: Daughter
Father's Name: John
Gender: Female
Where born: Tottenham, Middlesex, England

There's this one:
Marriages Dec 1894
Dimmock Walter Stuart Edmonton 3a 537
Tapsford Fanny Emma Edmonton 3a 537

I haven't looked to see if the Tapsford is indeed correct.

Hi all, I'm trying to find how he was related to my Nan Elizabeth Sophia Sapsford, I have an idea that Jimmys' mum was Emma Dimmock nee Sapsford. She lived in edmonton Montague Rd. Brettenham road is also where my Nan was born in 1906

It's likely that this is his birth reference (if he was born at the end of 1900 his birth could be registered in the next quarter):-

Name: James Henry Dimmock
Year of Registration: 1901
Quarter of Registration: Jan-Feb-Mar
District: Edmonton
County: Essex, Hertfordshire, Middlesex
Volume: 3a

Just put his name into Google

James Henry "Jimmy" Dimmock (1900-1972, born Edmonton, London) was a footballer who scored the winning goal for Tottenham Hotspur in the 1921 FA Cup Final. He played as a leftwinger and became the fans' favourite with his mazy runs and trickery, and also won three caps for England.

I'm looking for any information on the famous 1921 , goalscoring FA Cup winner James (Jimmy) Dimmock. He played for Tottenham Hotspurs and was my Nans' cousin. I have no other info on him at all, can anyone be of help, are there any avid SPURS fans out there that can help. Leeann
