Find Ancestors

Can any one help please I am at a loss? I am trying to find out about my grandfather Louis f nash who was born in 1886 in Totnes Devon. It is only a small place and there are lots of Pearces and he was related to Harry Pearce born abt1854 and had a sister call alice elizabeth mary Pearce born 1864-6. they lived in Bank House totnes then about 1885 they split up and some went to St Austel cornwall and the others came to london. If you have any knowledge of these people I would dearly like to hear from you.

Louis born 1885 Devon died London 1950 he married sarah Bush Wilding born 1885 1901 Louis was with uncle Harry Wilcocks Pearce born 1865 in Totnes Devon son of Howard Drake Pearce and Mary Waken they were married in 1856 they also had Alice Elizabeth Mary Pearce 1864 .
Howard D pearce was a accountant in 1851 and 1871 bank manager with 3 servants.

Perhaps Louis's mother married twice. She may have married Mr Nash as her second husband.

Alice elizabeth Mary Pearce married william wills in 1897 so who is the Alice ann Pearce on 1901 census down as sister to Harry W and she was single.
Another tree says Alice who married william wills was the daughter of Howard Drake pearce and Mary Wakem.
A little strange.

Good one Astra i have just been looking for marriage for thomas isaac Ashdown got thrown off as on cencus he was thomas j.
He was son of Isaac 1833 kent and Ann elizabeth Ashdown born about 1837 Newchurch kent.
So it is looking as though it is Lewis Frank Pearse 1883.

Hi Mary
Sorry I had to go for a couple of hours and do the domestic goddess routine.
I think it is Louis F Pearse. I just can't figure out why the name change to Nash.
Thomas and Jane Maria married in Eastbourne for some unknown reason which is why it took me so long to find it as I was sure they would have married in Devon. I think that the Frederick and Elizabeth family is the correct one because of Alice Ann in the 1901but at the end of it all we still don 't know who the parents of Louis were.
Going to have a quick look to see what happened to the rest of the daughters and try and figure out which one of them could have been his mother.

Perhaps the 1871 census I posted is the wrong one. It is the family of Howard and Mary Pearce and shows that they have a daughter Alice E. M. and son Harry W.

I think as Barbara said there seems to be rather a lot of Pearce families in the area - and it looks like they all used the same names for their children!!
