trying to find edith annie thomas maiden name blackmoore she had a daughter mary e thomas and a son walter edwin thomas who was my grandad she was born 1929 and walter 1928 mary his sister had 2 daughters husdband partner not known i found a birth for maty but no marriage or death mary put her 2 children up for adoption and her daughter patricia ellen is trying to find her any guidence or help would be much appreciated patricia has been in contact with the salvation army but still awaiting any news . i thought i would let a hand the best i can by putting this message up on her behalf kind regards

Mary would presumably be well over 80 if she is still alive.


The first step would be to see if she is still alive ......... which would mean trawling through the death index on ancestry.co.uk quarter by quarter, year by year, for evey year after she was definitely known to be alive.

When Patricia was born, was her surname Thomas or something different? That would give a clue as to whether Mary married or not. (Looking for Thomas in Wales is like ...............................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

as far as i no she was called mary e thomas when she was born

Patricia should be able to access her adoption file which might help, but other than that not sure what to do.

There are sites you can register on for people looking for each other, but I don't have any experience of that so you would need to look for some previous threads on adoption advice.
