I am searching for information on the father of George Frederick Smith, born 1876 in Clerkenwell, London. According to George's marriage certificate his father's name is Thomas. However, I have been unable to find a Thomas Smith, wife unknown who had a son named George anywhere in the Census lists.
I sure would appreciate some advice as to how to locate him. I can't get any further with my family tree untilI do. I have traced other "branches" of my family as far back as 1500's, but the Smith's are proving to be elusive. Can anyone help?

A couple of questions. Can you tell us Thomas's occupation please? And names of the witnesses?
