One slim possibility.

The births index 1916-1983 has

Harold N Lawrence 1916 West Ham
Harold N Lawrence 1926 Birmingham
Harold NR Lawrence 1923 Romsey

Harold N R Lawrence married 1944 in Romsey.

Then there are 3 Harold N Lawrence marriages:

1944 in Wednesbury to Farmer - yours
1944 in Surrey to Butler
and
1963 in St Pancras to Birnie

I can't find a birth for the woman the 1963 Harold married. That could suggest Birnie was a first married name. ... No, there are two Lawrence-Birnie births.

Oh yes oh yes. I wasn't sure whether we knew when Violet died.

Violet died in 1962. Leaving Harold free to remarry.

A Harold N Lawrence married in 1963.

Coincidence? Could be. Or not.

There are also Birnie-Birnie births before 1963 that could be births to the Lawrence-Birnie couple who married in 1963. One in particular where the child has the same name as Ms Birnie who married Mr Lawrence.

I'm seeing that 1963 marriage as too much concidence. I'm going to PM you some more detailed info (as it is about living people).
