Im not sure how you know he was at that address in 1931 as your first post said that the last you had on him was 1921

I think we've posted up to 1930 for Canada. Do you have some other info that has come to light?

alfred edward must have returned to canada because in 1936
hw was living at 5031 angers st st paul montreal.
now looking for a border crossing back .

OK, given that Ginny possibly has him coming back into the UK in 1930 I had a look for marriages in england. This is the only one I can find for an alfred e, so you would need to buy the cert to confirm that it's alfred edward, but you never know your luck:

ginny on that border crossing from canada that his him .
johnstown is wrexham were he was born.
then it looks like he may have come back.
liverpool was were his mother lived although she did not rear him .
nobody in the family knew about him till l found that person in canada.
hale was an area were some of the turners lived thay were his maternal family .
they moved all round that area and liverpool from wales.
l'll check out what you have sent me .

she says alfred sutton set sail on 29th july 1921.
from liverpool.
destination montreal canada.
ship. megantic.
address when he sailed
27 nant road coedpoeth nr wrexham.
it is the same address as was on his military papers .
she said she found in her mothers address book when they emigrated
in 1954 .
roberval street.
cote st paul.
montreal


but she does not know wether this was his last address or not.
