Hi Elaine,

Sorry I've taken so long I did a bit each day.

Couldn't find any Normans with correct age /D.O.B looked from 1952-2005. Only found the Durham one in 1972 that you said you'd already looked at.

Maybe he emigrated or even changed his name, did he marry?? maybe he took his wife's surname??

Cassy :-))

Elaine

heres one death that may be him?

Norman Cartwright b about 1900 Death Durham CSE 1a 797

It doesnt give a middle name but becuase the year of birth is a guess, it might sugest that he died without anyone having any knowledge about him

Worth a try?

Ginny

Edit sorry year 1972 Q July

Yes Cassy....a lucky find...people on GR are so kind and helpful. Have my mother in law with me and I just did a quick search for her. I had found some details but obviously there are always things transcribed wrongly. I am still trying to find details on my great uncle which would tie up lots of loose ends so if you ever come across death or marriage details for Norman S Cartwright...born 1900, Middlesbrough I would be amazed. Have got all other family details but cannot find any marriage or death for Norman - middle name is Stinton. Am laughing as its with a lot of help from GR people that lots of things have been unravelled....except for Norman. Know he was alive and living in Stockton in 1952 have looked at death in Durham but its not him.
Anyway....thanks again for replying and for info....much appreciated

Thanks so much for all information on Sydney Ketcher.
The death details have made his daughter extremely happy. She is my mother in law and I thought I would do a little research for her She grew up not knowing much about her father so we can now get death cert. We found details on Sydney C Ketcher but she thought his middle name was Arantes....now obvious it was 'Orontes'!!!
So helpful and many thanks for the information
