Have you tried a search on this site to see if anyone else is looking for the family, she may have married before the l88l census - her marriage could be on free bmd. Perhaps she went into service and is listed at another address.

Thank you for for Info" concerning Elizabeth Robson b.21/11/1856, Brecon Hill. Chester le Street. I do have all of your suggested marriage dates, but my main problem is knowing which one could be the right one? As you may know buying copies of certificates can become quite expensive, as I have found out to my cost only to find it is the wrong one. I was, therefore hoping that someone would have her in their family tree. But, I thank you sincerely for taking the time to reply to my plea. I have tried looking up the names you have given on various Census. 1888, 1889, 1901. And most state Elizabeths place of birth in different areas, and her age sometimes differs.

Thank you for your reply Re: Elizabeth Robson, I appreciate your speedy response which was very kind of you. But sadly, your Elizabeth Robson isn't the right one. The Elizabeth Robson that I'm seeking was born on the 21st November 1856, at Breckon Hill, Little Lumley, Chester le Street. Her Father was William Robson, a Farm Labourer at the time (Later became a Coal Miner) Her Mother was a Sarah Robson (formerly Fenwick). I found Elizabeth on the 1861 census aged 4years old. living in Bournmoor, and on the 1871 census, living in Sedgeletch, Newbottle, aged 14 years. Unable to find her on the 1881, 1891, 1901 or 1911 census, possibly because she was married. My main difficulty has been trying to find who she married? There are so many possibilities from the period between the early 1870's thro' to 1880 + When I checked the marriages against the 1881,1889, 1901 and 1911 Census they all gave different places of birth for the Elizabeth's.
I do greatly appreciate you responding to my plea of help, I was hoping that someone would recognise her within their family tree.

My mum was anne robson lumley and I wonder if there was a conection ? she married in 1947 to dad len atkin and died 1965 when I was 14 , never been able to trace much on her family and I was left to help dad bring up 6 of us .
