Find Ancestors

Hi Peeps.

I have a marriage set and i am trying to find who married who...however i cannot for the life of me find either of the couples on the 1881 census....!!

This is the marriage set in question.

Lucilla Spurway, i have already included her details on the marriage data.

I have tried the first name and just last name, and even just place of birth and dates... come up with nothing...!!

I have all the census years upto 1871 for her personally, nothing after the 1875 mariage...

It's starting to frustrate me!

I've even tried to research the other possible partners to see who they married and have drawn a blank on them too!!!

Can't see a death for her either (between 1875 and 1881) in any of those names.

I have looked at Lucy and she is single.

Could they have emigrated to Canada?
I dont sadly have worldwide sub to Ancestry so cant check birthplaces but the 1901 census for Quebec Montreal has a Lucilla Skinner b 1853 married to a Robert G Skinner

I was hoping Lucilla didn't marry Robert !!!

Lucilla's sister Frances married Fitzowen Skinner, and now it seems her sister married Fitzowen's brother Robert!!! Grrr

I'm trying to get to the bottom of a family mystery which entails Fitzowen disappearing to Spain with alot of someone else's money!

As i cannot find them on any census i now wonder if they also went... the plot gets thicker...i was hoping to solves some bits Grrr

out of curiosity - was Fitzowen a barrister?

Yeah he was....!

He was a little bit of a sod my all accounts! his father was Fitzowen also a barrister and his grandfather was John Skinner the famed vicar of Camerton.

up until yesterday we had no idea why he left for Spain, but upon entering his name into the London Gazette search engine, we discovered a court case in which he had stolen £3,100, in 1883 that was alot of money!

I wonder because when I googled his name there were 2 references for 1875 & 1879 which contained all the same names & he was described in one as 'of Lincoln's Inn'
