Find Ancestors

On the 1911,1901 born in Stockton on Tees in 1870.
I have his death and marriage cert.
Marriage cert 4/6/1892 Stockton occ blacksmith striker later iron ore sampler No fathers name on cert.
Address 87 Pearson St Stockton.
Witness appears to live in the same street Joseph and Sarah Jordan
I cant find his birth
I have found 3 Alfred Atkinson born 1869-1870 in Stockton. One with middle initial E. I bought this cert incase it was mistranscribed but it is Edward.
I have followed those 3 Alfred Atkinson through the census and eliminated them.

This is clutching at straws

Eliza wife then a load of Atkinson grandchildren but no Alfred

I no longer subscribe to Ancestry so cant do it myself.
Can someone trace this family and see if there is a possible Alfred connected to them

Yes considered him born Foster and there is 1 born 1870 Stockton.
Im sure I checked him out on the census though

Since my Alfred Foster Atkinson married in 1892 and was a striker and blacksmith in boiler works in 1901.

I think the Alfred you found in 1891 is a house painter in 1901

I think I will have to give this man up. Without a fathers name there isnt any proof .So frustrating. He is my husbands grandfather and no children left to ask as usual.

Not finding a second marriage of Pheliman at the moment to establish the Atkinson grandchildren connection. Must be Eliza's grandchildren though as Pheliman and Lucy do not appear to have had children.

My thoughts were that Dianna (Skelding) was daughter of Eliza (Sceldon)


Might be something to 'follow through'. The tree on Ancestry has Diana Foster marrying Matthias Atkinson, but I can't see a marriage of Diana Foster.
