are you sure that the 1871 Ellen and the Ellen from later census info are the same people? If Ellen Makin is described as 'married' or 'widowed' she was presumably not a Makin before marriage. In 1871 she would only have been 13 years old and therefore unlikely to be already married.

Have you found Ellen in 1891?

Yes that is the census for 1871 that i found as it says Sligo i was not sure if it was her of not thats why i thought i would try and work backwards i know sarah had sisiter(acording to my dad but his memory is not good) but names i dont know, and yes thats my tree Mary

so in 1871 & 1911 it says Sligo on the others it says manchester !

Is this the 1871 census that you have.Ellen Makin Sligo ireland 1858 ,Catherine born Sligo and mum Mary Meacon (Makin) 1821 in Sligo.
Are you also tracey who has all the above plus sarah Ellen on their tree on Ancestry.

Who was with her on 1901 census and where was Sarah Ellen on 1891.

I have seen Ellen it says wife age 28.
Just looked again it says she is 38 transcribed wrong.
Sarah ellen age 17 daughter on 1901 census both born manchester,but ages don't appear to be right.
I have seen a Thomas makin 1845 manchester with Ellen 1858 Manchester.
