Are you saying that Thomas & Mary married in 1842 and had a child in 1894? |

Maybe you would have more luck with the 1911 census. |

could it be another case of an illegitimate child giving a "father's" name on his marriage certificate because it "looks better"?? |

He could very well be born Frodsham, there is one on FreeBMD who was registered 1st quarter 1895, Runcorn, which includes Frodsham but I don't know why we can't find him on the 1901 census. |

Cheryl, it doesn't say, on a marriage certificate, where someone was born, only where they lived at the time of the marriage. |

It states on his Albert's marrage certificate that he was born in Frodsham, Cheshire. I have looked at his marrage certificate again this eve, and have confirmed as previous sugested that Thomas's occupation was as a Brickmaker! |

What was Thomas' occupation from the wedding certificate? That might help find him. |

Im trying to find information on a Thomas Ainsworth, who I believe was from Frodsham, Cheshire. I know he had a son Albert (b:1894) who was married to a Mabel Tailby (b:1896). I have their marriage certificate, so am sure this is correct. There are quite a few Albert's on the 1901 census, so cant seem to work back from there. |
