Hi Derek!! hope I didn't offer too much!!! got a bit carried away with Preston Bambers

sorry perhaps misled you a bit there (New) Longton is on the SW side of Preston (I assume that is the same as Longton - should know as I've only lived in the W of Preston area 30 odd yrs) and Fulwood is on the NE side - much nearer the prison! I was getting confused with Longsands Ln. But who knows - James could have been a home spinner living anywhere in the area.

and my mother's sdie of the family seem to be centred around Fulwood..Thanks again

the Ann with parents Wm & rebecca was the only baptism for that name between March 1851 & end of may 1852. Think you need to try other churches St George, St Mary to name but 2 of the 17 in Preston ( and that's without the outskirts Fullwood, Longton etc which are on same the side of Preston of the known address in 1871

Has anyone got the above Parish records..or access to same??

I would be really very grateful for any entries showing parentage of Ann Bamber 1851. Her marriage cert shows father James Bamber deceased.......but I can't find him anywhere.
I have some reason to believe her parents were NOT William Bamber and rebecca Hool(e)
