My pc went on the blink i couldn't believe it, but what a wonderful surprise when i eventually go it going again. I cant believe you found all this information on my grans parent and grandparent, i cant wait to tell her. She is 86 yrs old now and will be thrilled. I honestly cant thank you enough for what you have done. You restore faith in human nature. Never pay more than £7 and on the application form it will ask if the gro ref numbers are known,tick the yes box.
the gro ref numbers are what you see on the marriage ref for them.

Well i don't know how you do it, you've found loads out. I think the professional wrestler bit was probably amateur. And as you say its pretty conclusive that Mary Ann Peters is Johns mother.
So they were right about James Hacking's wife being Martha, great stuff i may be able to get a lead with there daughters?

You will need to get this cert to find Thomas hacking
prior to the 1891 census with accuracy as there are too many in the same area and around the right age to find him with his parents.
I was unable to find thomas hacking as a wrestler at all.

I am certain that mary ann peters was john/jacks mother simply because Edward {ted} one of his brothers ,is with her on the census as grandson,
very handy for us that was,
and the marriage is in the right place at the right time.
I personally wouldnt get john/jacks cert as the facts are staring us in the face,
but it would confirm it if you felt the need of it.

I have googled for thomas hacking proffesional wrestler but had no joy with it.

On the 1891 census he is down as a carter,so maybe his wrestling became proffesional for the purposes of a better sounding occupation,but was really only amateur,or maybe on the fair grounds he was classed a proffesional.
That would take much more research to find out about I think.
I will check back on previous census for his occupations.

Also im not sure about Henry at all? All my grandad mentioned was he was great at the guitar. My gran said Edward lived in south end with a Gretta but they weren't married she didn't think and i think he had a stepson?
James Hacking is the one im not sure of, like Thomas its all guess work. But James(jimmy) was married and the name mentioned for his wife was Martha, they had the 2 daughters. I'm sure my grandad mentioned he died in an accident to do with a cart, and his wife remarried and moved to Blackpool?

The information you have found on the Hacking's is fantastic!
It was Thomas Hacking, that was down as the professional wrestler, on his son Johns Death certificate? Ive no idea if anything can be found out about this but my son is very impressed with it! I'm sure to that these are my Hacking's
The Hugills are definitely mine, my gran and mum know more about them as they came from Burnley like us. I even remember Edward hugill, uncle Eddie as he lived well into his 90's.
About the Hacking's again, does this mean that Johns mother was Mary Ann peters? or do i still need to get his birth certificate?

On the census forms you will find that birth years are not quite the same as what you know them to be as it goes on the age of the person at the time it was taken.
Also some are very hard to read and the transcribers write what they think they see,and often people could not remember exactly how old they were or where they were born so they guessed at it,so you need to have some leeway when searching the census for people.

The census forms that I have posted are your family , john/jacks family,of that I am certain.

But to be certain of john hackings mothers maiden name you need to buy his birth certificate really,but as his brother Edward is with granny Peters on 1901 it looks pretty conclusive that her maiden name was Peters.
Also granny peters was born in cornwall the same as mary ann hacking.
