I've just found more information on Nora. She married a Patrick J Lambert in 1966 april-June in Croydon. I can only find two children they have who were Brendan Joseph Lambert b 1967 and Geraldine Mary Lambert b 1968 both in Croydon. So anyone who knows where these are as well?

Friends, Romans, countrywomen.

I'm going to start reporting posts with personal info about living people in them. Seriously.

http://www.genesreunited.co.uk/?wci=grstatic&type=guidelines

"Don't include an email address, postal address, phone number, the address of any website, or ***any other personal information about yourself or any other person*** in material that appears on the service"

Yes, it's findable in the published GRO index.

I regard that as a sufficient breach of privacy (it certainly isn't published in Canada or Australia for these recent dates).

I just don't think it's fair to collect it and publish it here without the knowledge/consent of the people concerned. The Private Message function is available for that.

oh wow thanks for all this, at least i can try and track nora now through her children

Ashleigh

Ashleigh Report 20 Apr 2009 21:44

what personal info are we on about here, if your on about the marriage details then that can be found through records anyway

EvieBeavie

EvieBeavie Report 20 Apr 2009 22:21

Ashleigh.

Would you really be pleased to find out that someone had been talking about you, and posting the details of your birth and marriage (names, dates, places) on the internet, without your knowledge or consent?

I know that I sure as shooting do not want that being done with my personal information.

Yes, it can be found in the indexes, by someone who looks for each individual piece of information, provided they know what they're looking for. (You didn't look?) And it can be provided at this site via private messages that do not result in the information being permanently published in collected form on the world-wide net, without the knowledge or consent of the person in question.

I trust that answers the question of what we are "on about", as you so colourfully put it. (You have read the rules of the site, of course ...)

Perhaps you would delete this thread now that you have the information -- I actually see no problem with bits of info like this being posted very temporarily, to serve a particular purpose like this, but I see no need for it to remain accessible to anyone and its dog for the rest of time.

EvieBeavie.

I'm sorry to hear the words "on about" seem to have offended you so much that you HAD to mention it. I guess we all can't be perfectly spoken as you.

So people can look at all the records in private but they're not allowed to share it with people who have also been looking at it? And it can be shown on the site but not in a thread? That makes a great arguement. If people want information, they can get it easily, they don't need to go to a thread.

And for your information, I never asked for anyone to search for records for me. Yes I had already been doing this, I was enquiring to see if anybody knew about the person in question, which is what this site is for, or so I thought.

I must be mistaken. Genes reunited must not be about helping people reunite with lost family members. The word 'reunite' threw me.
