Find Ancestors

Hi I have been trying in vain to find marriage of Herbert Smallman b1898 and Elsie Mears b1900, of Wolverhampton, Their children were born 1930 and 1932. Also I cannot find their deaths, Herbert died in St Georges Hospital, Stafford, Elsie died at Westcroft in Wolverhampton Staffs. Its as if they never existed, why cant I find their records? Any help would be greatly appreciated,

PS I dont know who reginald is there were definately no more children that the family know.

Thanks Wilma, it looks like they did have another child but he died at birth, he has never been mentioned by the other children, I was quite young when Elsie and Herbert died,

I just did a search and the only children coming up ar the 2 that Jonesey put on yet the births for Smallman go up to 1934

Would you mind to give the 1st names on the 2 you have already so i can just check something

They had a daughter called Grace, I have her birth as 1932,

FreeBMD must still be transcribing as Grace wasn't coming up.... But she on Ancestry

Have you search each Qtr on Ancestry for their deaths, because if the died after say 1935 but before 1984 that is where you have to look

And without being able to narrow it down that is one big search

I'll have to try that, I know it was last half of 60's, could even be very early 70's, Oh well it wil keep me out of trouble for a while,

Just looked at deaths on BMD and they are only up to 1934


I don't mind helping i'll take 1975 and work back see you in the middle lol

That looks like Herbert, Elsie died after Herbert her middle name was Annie, you work a lot faster than me,

Nothing in 1976,1977,1978,1979, 1980

Have been up to 1980 and no sign of Elsie

That one i put on might be her as the info on a death is only as good as the informant knew
