Find Ancestors

working backwards from marriage cert I have come to the name of John Collinson from Staffs.
Unfortunately there are 2 both married to ellen with daughters Elizabeth.One a potter and one a publican
I can locate them in 1851 with daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law.Abraham,but in 1841 only the wrong one who was a potter ,not a publican
Please can any one find any info on the publicans?

We need full details if we are to try to help you........

On 1851 census it states he is 51 so i would expect a birthdate of c1800
around Wolstanton staffs

Can't see a 51-year old on 1851 census..........

I can only see one John Collinson born 1794 on the 1851 a potter married to an Ellen.... do I need new glasses !!!!! Please can you give all the details of the publican.........daughters married name any other details please

Surname is Hughes,but it isnt on the census
says he is a shriger

Leba, Have you found this again....I cannot find Abraham Shriger on the 1851...

Well...according to 1861, Elizabeth was born in Cheshire.

it looks like a shriger was someone who worked in a forge?
And they had a son John who i hadn;t found before
