You really need a trip to the records office and a trawl through the registers to find out who Liz was, working backwards from the baptism of the two kids that we seemed to have found. If the kids were illegitimate there may be some Bastardy Bonds available at the records office where the father had to support them in some way. |

this is really confussing, on christening he was crank, then in 1841 his farrell, then in 1851 is back to crank and on his marriage cert he states his father is Thomas Thean. so would you say his mother had him out of wedlock and was her name elizabeth crank, if so can not find anything on her either, |

Thanks for your help Heather, I still can not find anymore info. The christenings only state mother,s name. so Im absolutly lost now. I've been looking for the past 2 days and can find no more info on Abel or his mother. looks like my search ends here for my ancesters. |

Its a very good name to follow, ancestry have parish records back to 17th century on that name in the right area. |
