Twinklekat Report 9 Apr 2009 19:13

I received a copy of Blanche's birth & death certificates this morning. Firstly her Mother is not who we thought it was!!!! There's some scandal to uncover here!!!

Blanche died of natural causes after heamoragging (sp?) after miscarrying at 5 months gestation. It's very sad but much more preferable than being savaged by baboons!

Thanks everyone for you help. My friend has found Blanche's death registered in Lewisham in 1928, so the baboons & Manchester death theory is wrong (thank goodness)

I have looked through the Qtrs from 1926-1936 and can see nothing for Blanche

I tend to agree with Julie, untill you have concrete evidence to prove any different, you are just going on someone elses "story". However reading the piece in the Echo, it is a fact it seems that he did work with animals at different stages.

If the story was true, would there not be an inquest into the death, have you thought about investigating the possibilty of Coroners Reports etc.

There is an insert in the London Gazette (6th August 1926) relating to Alexander Zass, but am not sure of its meaning at first I thought it relating to change of name? anyway have a look.

I read a piece on the web about Blanche & it was very interesting but...

I would get in touch with the Palace Theatre in Manchester to see if they have any records

Do i believe what that lady was saying, maybe not 100% if there was a death cert for Blanche in Manchester 1926 i would feel a bit different.
____________

I will tell you something that my Aunt said to me........My Nan was 100% sure my G/Dad was younger than her, now i have my G/Dads BM & D cert and they all point to him being older.......My Aunt thinks that the Certs are all wrong..... Why, because of what her Mum had told her, so in her eyes what my Nan had said was the truth

I couldn't find a death for her either but I know she definately died then, think it was August. We were always told she died in childbirth but I've read some reports in the internet recently that said she was killed in a stage act at the Palace Theatre in Manchester!!

Can anyone help me with any information on the following 2 people? Blanche Leach b.1909, London d.1926 and her husband Alexander Zass b.1888 , Poland d,1962, Essex?
I have found Blanche's birth & their marriage but I cannot find any record of her death. I know she died in 1926 because I have a photo of her grave with the date on but I can't trace it. I need to find out where she died as I am trying to get to the bottom of a juicy rumour as to how she pased away. They were both music, hall artistes, she was a dancer called Louis Louise and he was a strongman called Samson.
Any help with tracing their marriage and any possible children (though I don't believe there are any) would be very gratefully received.

Also her parents Edith Neville b.1887 in Atherstone Warwickshire, lived in Bolton in 1901 and Will Leach . That's all I know of her husband but that could even be his stage name and I cannot trace any marriage between the two.

Thank you :0)
