I'm trying to find parents of James Charles Gregory b1822 in Blackwell, Derbyshire on the 1881 derbyshire census. He is living with his wife Jane b1836, daughter Hannah b1871 and twins Polly (Mary) and Charles William b1873. James is listed as a carpenter.

Jane I believe is a Shelton. According to familysearch she is of Barnsley? On the census it states she is from Ripley.
My aunts always said that James was from wealthy stock and his dad was possible a doctor and his siblings were solicitors. .
He had a previous wife who died and he hired Jane Shelton to help with the children.

Any bells ringing?
