I'm trying to find info re the birth family of my great great grandmother Catherine Banks nee Boorman. In 1861 she was living with husband Frederick Geo Banks at Old Kent Rd, Camberwell, and as a widow in Greenwich in 1771. Her children were Frederick Geo Wm, Esther J, William H, Catherine, Charles & Susan.

You should buy that marriage certificate that Lindsey found. That will give you her father's name, and then we have a starting place to look for her.
It will cost £7 from www.gro.gov.uk ....... but is the only way to be sure that you ahve the correct people.
There are 3 Catherine Boorman born in Kent around 1837 on the 1841 Census, none specifically say Canterbury
