This one may not be a connection at all but I'm wondering if they anglicised the name what they might have changed it to? |

His siblings were Charlotte 1877 (my brother-in-laws gt gr gran). Ann Elizabeth 1872, we've looked for varients, I've even looked over the pond - it's very frustrating!! |

The only thing I can think of is if you can find out where Claus originated from in Germany, that George may have gone to live and work there ...you might be able to find him in death records for that area? |

Claus died in the Poplar Workhouse in 1895, and according to one site George was an inmate there in the same year! can't access the record tho!! My sister has given me this mystery to play with while I'm sat with my knee resting post-op and it's given me a headache to go with the sore knee!!! |

Can't see Claus in the Poplar Union Workhouse records on Ancestry. I checked through the whole quarter in case he was mistranscribed. |

Carol.....I have checked the "Sugar Refiners" data base I have and there are a number of Tiencken surnames and variations on it...Tienjen being one of them...dont know if you want me to look for anything specific from iy...it does give the Origin of the person and also where other details can be located. |
