I am trying to find the birth record for Frances (female spelling) TURNER, who was born on 28 April 1904. We believe she lived in or around Chertsey or Woking in Surrey. I have searched but found nothing for that spelling/date period. I would appreciate any help that anyone could provide.
mnay thanks

Have you found her on the 1911 census?

I have checked all of 1904, but not years either side. The birth date was given to me by her daughter, my mother-in.law. Please explain MMN?

Many thanks

Hi Ricochet

We don't have the mothers maiden name I'm afraid. Her father was Herbert Richard TURNER, who was a cattle (and possibly horse) dealer in Surrey (Woking and Chertsey).

many thanks for your interest.

Hi diddydoris

None of those Frances's on the 1911 census seem to fit with what we have been told, in that she lived in Woking or Chertsey (generally west Surrey) until she was married. We have no knowledge of any family links to Croydon and Dorking so they seem unlikely I think.

Hi Diddydoris again

Maybe I'm totally wrong about this, but I though Francis was the male spelling of Frances, which is why I discounted the Francis record. What you have found for the 1911 census means I need to rethink this, and I agree that the birth record you have found would also make sense. I'll apply for that Birth Certificate and see where that gets me.
Many thanks for all your efforts!!

kind regards

Ian
