Would anyone be able to help with advice again please. I have Henry Ward marrying Eliza Dunbar in 1875. Elizas father is Richard ( an excise officer ) and Henry,s father is Richard a market gardener. I am keen to place both Eliza and Henry pre their marriage, hopefully in the census with their families. Richard Ward lived at William Street in 1875 and Richard Dunbar lived Nelson Place, both Islington. |

I can only say that Eliza looks to be 20 when married . Henrys just says off full age. |

Sorry yes she was married to Henry Haggett Prior and is listed as widow when she marries Henry. Really sorry I should have put that in first place. |

Do you have them in the census records after their marriage, that will give you an idea of Henry's date of birth? |

If her first marriage was in 1868 and she was (say 18) then that would make her date of birth 1850, which would make her at least 25 when she married Henry? |

Henrys occupation is Carman and it looks as though Eliza cant write as she simply puts a cross for her signature. Yet her father is an excise officer so she would have probably been educated, must have been another reason for inability to write. |

I'm having trouble finding anything that fits exactly. Do you know if they had any children? |

Thank you, I shall follow that thread if I can. One extra thing I noticed although not sure if it helps is that Henry and Eliza move into Richard Dunbars home in Nelson Place as their child Henry Richard is registered from that address. |

Just had a quick look through Nelson Place, on the 1881 census and couldn't find a Dunbar Family living there. |
