I am going round in ever decreasing circles looking for the following lady

Elizabeth Jervis born 1880 in Liverpool. I cannot find her birth.

I have a copy of her marriage certificate to George Taylor in 1901 and it states she is 21. Her father's name is John James Jervis, Labourer.

I cannot find her on the 1881.

There is a John Jervis who married an Elizabeth Thomason but I would like to confirm that is the one I am after.

What was her address on the marriage cert?

Maybe I am assuming wrongly, but this is a Liverpool family as far as I am aware. I have tried freebmd all areas but nothing turns up. I have found 2 John Jervis' born in Liverpool, one of which I presume is her father. Am I going about this the wrong way? Help would be appreciated.

Could this be her birth (perhaps she lied on her marriage certificate about her age if she didn't have parental consent):-

Very few of the many marriage certificates I have give correct ages for the couples. I think an awful lot lied and the rest really didn't keep track of their age as birthdays weren't really celebrated as they are now.

1911 census has an Elizabeth Taylor born c1883 in the same household as a George Taylor.........living in Toxteth Park

You would need to get credits to view the transcribed info................to find out if they are 'your' people

My word! I only blinked and there's more advice!! So she was a very young girl wasn't she? I'll try and sort her siblings out now I think - it may help with the wider picture.

Her address on the marriage cert is 37 Boughton (Bughton) Terrace. They share the address.

The touching thing is, this is my husband's grandparents, and looking at the signature of the incumbent, my OH and I think it is the father of the vicar who married us. Ahhh.
