This is a school and it seems all the children were "born" in Poplar.....So maybe it was made up

was your gt grandad still alive when your cousin Penny got married? She was born in 1946 so it would have been in the 60's I would imagine.

hi julie as far as i can tell from his marriage cert his father's name was also albert but it was realy his mother's name i was looking for because it doesn't tell you on the m/c in scotland it does

From his M/C what was his dads name....i can't see a birth for him at all

thanks brubra i had her birth year as 1914 but i know dates can be wrong would you be able to tell me if there is a way to check a certificate without having to order it just to see if it's the correct one

hi julie that was hi marraige cert but on his army recors when he joined up he put down his berth place as poplar london

hi julie yes that's his son i have phyllis's birth she was born johanna p but was known as phyllis i can't seem to find out what happened to him i know he lived with phyllis and her husband above the cafe but i don't know what happened to the cafe if it is still there or if it has been knocked down.

hi paula yes that's his son my uncle my granddad was born in1872 from his army records it says he was 14 years old when he joined and born in poplar london but i can't find any record of his birth
