On the marriage cert it does say that Hannah's father is deceased but it doesn't say anything next to Aaron's name so I assumed he was still alive. |

Unless the father was a witness to the marriage, there is no certainty that he was alive at the time of the 1844 event |

I am trying to trace the Trotman family. I have traced back to Thomas Trotman b 1821 probably in Siston Gloucestershire. I have obtained a copy of his marriage certificate which confirms that he married Hannah Silman in 1844. The marriage certificate names Aaron Trotman (still alive at that time) as Thomas' father and one of the witnesses is John Trotman (possibly Thomas' brother?). |
