Find Ancestors

Hi I have traced the Thompson side of my family back to Robert and Mary who were married in 1834. My line is through their son Thomas Thompson born 1839 but I am having trouble finding the other children and also where they are from. Thomas' children are all born in Whickham and I have found another line in Whickam David and Janet Thompson who were married there in 1856 and had 3 children in Whickham but the 1881 census says they came from Scotland . Can anyone help me find out iif both families are related and if not where my Robert Thompson and mary Routledge were born

Source Information:

Robert Thompson born 16/6/1815 baptised 22/10/1815 son of Robert Thompson and Ann Nicholson who were married 14/8/1802 Whickham.
I am not now sure of this being right as there is a Robert Thompson living Whickham 1851 aged 35 with his mother Ann 76 and sister Sarah 45 BUT he is unmarried so it does not seem to be the right Robert.

Have you found thomas and mary who married 1834 0n the 1841 cenus???

Hi no I have not found them married on the 1841 census. I have decided to apply for Thomas' marriage certificate as I am now having doubts about whether I have found the right Thomas. Mine definitely married Isabella Baker in 1860 but i have been having trouble locating where he is from and his parents. TI do use IGI and free BMD but this is a tough one...too many thomas Thompsons!!!

If your Thomas is the one with a wife Isabella -then he is NOT the one born to Robert and Mary Routledge
The Thomas with wife Isabella in censuses shows place of birth as Houghton-le-spring and also "Philadelphia and He is the son of William and Eleanor Thompson
