Find Ancestors

looking for matthew hall have him on 51/61/71/81 census but cannot locate him in 1841. He married sep 1840 so asummed he would be on the 1841 census , but cannot find him, wondering if he could of stayed with his parents after marriage, his father was aslo called matthew but no d.o.b. or mothers name
Matthew b abt 1817 hartley northumberland married catherine walker b abt 1819 earsdon northumberland.
Children margaret 1842, ann 1842, david 1846, matthew 1850 eleanor 1852 mary jane 1855 dorothy 1860 & george 1864, i wonder if anyone can help me. Also looking to find them on the 91 census as i believe he died around 1900

ricochet not sure about father, wonder who dorothy is as age gap is big

Dorothy in 1841 could be a daughter............

Don't put too much emphasis on spelling (as in Catherine)...........literacy was even poorer then than it is now.
And there's a child Margaret with them.................

Ages were not always accurate

Having said all that, you are wise to be cautious.......too many people jump to conclusions without checking things thoroughly.

Ther are so many matthew hall's around that time in northumberland area its hard to find the correct one, I know his father is definatley matthew hall as it states that on his sons marriage cert, i will have dig further.
