I checked the original document and it just says Frederick Earl !

So I checked who made the correction, and that person has a family tree on ancestry, so I have copied the info that she had on Joeseph Frederick Earl.... if it hits with your man she also has info on other family members which I can copy for you if you can not access the site yourself.
