Find Ancestors

Hi All, Anyone willing to help solve a mystery?
I have a John James Wood whose wife was Ellen, we know that her birth name was Chadd and that she married William Arthur Hill in 1910. She married ? John James Wood sometime after this. I know she lived at Ayleford Rd Old Swan and that she wrote to William Hill in 1940. The year her brother George Thomas Chadd died. My problem is I can find no record of marriage to John James Wood. Or when she left William Hill. Can anyone shed any light on this for me. Thank you.

where is Old Swan? By the way, there are searches going on for Chadds on another thread on this board - have a look for it - might be connected to you

Hi All,
Thanks for the replies. Ellen is a mystery from the time (whenever) she left William, I have her back to the 1700's. It is just the period of her leaving William till the marriage?? to john James Wood . They had a son Arthur in 1927.
I am beginning to doubt the marriage. Her granddaughter, my cousin is coming over from Austalia in a couple of months for a visit, and I am trying to solve the mystery for her.

No I have checked this site, Ancestry, find my past and family search. jsut don't know where else to look. Perhaps if i look for a divorce from william hill i might get somewhere. Thanks for your time and help.

They might not have married
The only way ,to be sure of parents names,are to bye the birth cert

im having exactly same prblem with a ellen but i believe that she married in 1910 had a baby before coming back 2 england saying the dad didnt want 2 know i think names mcdean william maddock or hough could be involved i believed irene young lesley where from australia dont know if connected mizzy

I am searching Chadds but there doesn't appear to be any common threads.

Old Swan is in what was the registration area of West Derby in Liverpool.

Most former West Derby registers are at Liverpool some are at Knowsley or Sefton South.

Location West Derby closed in 1934 and post July 1837 civil registers moved to Bootle (Merseyside) or Crosby or Liverpool North
