Yes Mel
I am in touch with Roger; he is connected to Agnes Ediker and gave me a lot of information until I realised that the ages didn't appear to fit.

As families seemed to 'recycle' names I'm hoping that somewhere there will be a connection to George Dunning and Agnes Ediker - cousins maybe,
otherwise this strand of my family tree seems to be lost prior to 1891.

Hi Mel and Vivienne
Thanks for all your efforts

George Dunning born 1841 was married to Agnes Ediker and I keep coming back to the fact that their daughter is the wrong age to be my grandmother, but wherever I search I can't find another George and Agnes Dunning, and these are definitely the names of my great-grandparents. I've toyed with the idea that my grandmother did not give birth to the last 2 children but adopted/brought them up as hers, but the family resemblance is too great .
I shall definitely look at the birth certificate/parish register for Roseina her sister.

in the mean time if anyone has any more information about the Dunnings of Goldings Cottages (1891 - 1901) I shall be most interested.

Susan you say in your first posting that the age of Agnes junior is wrong but I don't see that at all. It is right because she was born in 1875 or 6. Where did you get 1862 from????????????

The family is at the same address through years why should it not be your Agnes as she is on the 1901 census with husband and children living in her mothers house at 1 Goldings Cotts.

Hi Mel

I have no disagreement with the details on the 1901 or 1891 censuses, but I keep getting matches with Agnes Dunning who was George Dunning and Agnes Ediker's daughter. This is where the ages of the 2 Agnes Dunnings do not match.

I'm interested in George Dunning ,son of Samuel and Sophia and will follow that up - many thanks

I don't understand why you say that the age is wrong for the mixtranscribed census. That Agnes is born about 1876 which would make it the right one if she marriaed when she was 20.
You have to remember that a lot of people could'nt read or write in those years. So that way they would'nt know if their names were spelt right or not and thats why we get different spellings of names.

The census that was transcribed as being wrong with the Chandler family was also in a different street to Goldings and someone has just not looked at it propery.

Thanks for the information.
I have already found this, but I'm trying to find a birth record for about 1875 in the hope of finding her mother's maiden name. Maybe she is related to the family of George Dunning and Agnes Ediker but her age makes me feel it is unlikely that my Agnes, is Agnes Ediker's daughter Agnes born in 1862. Surely in the early 1900s women were not giving birth at 51yrs and 55yrs!

Has anyone evidence of another George and Agnes Dunning in London about 1880 - 1901?

I am looking for birth details of my grandmother Agnes Ann Dunning.
Contacts through Genes Reunited have suggested that Agnes Dunning (Hunter) was the daughter of George Dunning b 1842 and Agnes Ediker b 1841 and that the age on the census etc was wrong.
If this were true Agnes’s age at marriage and death was also wrong and she would have been 51yrs and 55yrs when her youngest children were born – unlikely!

This is what I know for sure.
She married William Hunter on 10th November 1895, St James’ Church Fulham, aged 20 yrs.
Residence: 1 Goldings Cottages, Fulham
Father: George Dunning a carpenter.
Witnesses: Rosenia and Emmanuel Tyne.
Agnes Ann Hunter died 4 October 1939 aged 64yrs, interred at Fulham Cemetery (In Memoriam card).
1901 Census
William 27yrs and Agnes 26yrs were living with their children at 1 Goldings Cottages, Fulham.
Her mother also Agnes Dunning aged 50 a widow and her sons George 30yrs and Louis(Lewis) 19yrs were living in the same house, but as a separate household.
1891 Census
George 49 yrs and Agnes Ann Dunning 49 yrs were at 1 Goldings Cottages, Fulham with Children Alfred 19yrs, Agnes15yrs, Charles12yrs, Lewis 11yrs

Agnes had 8 children born between 1896 and 1917 but one died as a baby.
She had a sister known as Rose, probably Roseina/Rosenia Tyne, a witness at her marriage
Sorry this is so long but please can anyone claim a connection with my Agnes or suggest how I can find her birth details.
