I am trying to track my GGG Grandfather. The information I have is from his son Frederick's death certificate.

Frederick was born around 1854 in Herefordshire. His fathers name was George Thomas, his mother was Elizabeth Lowman Watson.

I have been unable to find anything. I have tried looking for the marriage (checking for Lowman as a surname as well), census data (We believe that they emigrated (to New Zealand) when Frederick was 6, so he wouldn't appear in a census. I have also scoured shpping lists for the family but have only drawn blanks.

It is also said within the family that we have links to Thomas House in Bath, one story states that Frederick would have een next in line if te family hadn't emigrated. But who knows?

Of course the information on the death certificate is only as good as the informant, I have one where the mothers maiden name listed is actually the maternal grandmothers name. But I don't know where to go next?

Can anyone help?

Have you found George and Elizabeth in the 1851 census? Married or single? It may be there were older children and they married in the 1840's - or possibly earlier?

As I am only guessing the age I have been searching 1830 +- 10 years. In the 1851 census I con find 18 records. 2 married (Hannah and Ann) rest unmarried.
There are 17 in the 1841 census.
Because I know nothing else I cannot say which one he is.
