Find Ancestors

Hi
Hoping someone can help me find some information on the following of deaths or births even marriages.
Eleanor Sim born 1900 Lancashire i think she married John Thomas and James Sim born c1904 Lancashire I think married May Pugh 4qtr 1921?. I have been told of these marriages by another GU member but it is not proven as yet. Their fathers name was James Sim born Newcastle Upon Tyne 1870's and mothers name Eleanor Bates. I am hoping someone can help please.

no sorry I really haven't got all that much information on them at all. I only recently found out their father (Eleanors and James) is my grandfather and am hoping to find some living relatives somewhere if possible. Their fathers name was James Sim born newcastle upon tyne in 1879 and mother was eleanor bates who died in 1913. James second wife Beatrice Violet Deakin is my grandmother. I would be grateful for any help possible even death dates of any of the 3 children. Another member of GU give me the names of their spouses but I am not sure of their accuracy .

if you look at that death registration that Paula found, it says Eleanor SIM ...... which implies that she did not marry


That does not of course say that she didn't have any children!


You could look yourself on www.freebmd.org.uk, it is a FREE site, and it is where we look for all bmds between July 1 1837 and about 1930 or 1935.

Volunteers are rapidly transcribing more and more records and adding them to the site, so it is worth checking back regularly.

Thanks Silvia but that death is the mother that I already have it is the children of hers that I am trying to trace more info on

searched for James Sim born in 1904

was the only result.... so possibly died prior to 1984

Hi have found these four birth for Salford area (where Eleanors death was registerd.

Searrched the dates between 1899 and 1913 BUT I am not sure if related.

You could order the certs if you want to and see if the fathers name matches,

You could also try search trees at the top of this page and the 1911 census as the last birth was in 1904 although you will need credits to do this.

Sorry I may have confused the pot. James (1870's) married Eleanor Bates ( died 1913) their Children were the same names. It is the children I am trying to trace. the James 1904 and Annie 1902 are the correct ones. Eleanor was born 1900. Are there any marriages noted for any of these? is it hard to tell? also is it possible to find if they had any children?

If you send for the marriage cert and have the fathers name as a checking point - you could then search from there but the records on Freebmd only go up to about 1936(?) so may be difficult after that.
