Find Ancestors

Im trying to find out any info on Elizabeth Waterman, I know she married william Besley and she died in child birth of her only child Thomas in 1904. I am thinking that william gave thomas to his brother stephen Besley and fanny to bring up as their own as i have found him on the 1911 census as their son.

Im wondering if there is anyone who knows anyhing else? Who was Elizabeths family? On freebmd i have her middle name as hannah and annie, on Thomas cert her middle name is annie.

Fathers name difficult to read on the original, look like Bicklam??? He is listed as a Farm Labourer.

Yes Victor i think that is her family althought its not clear if the parents are Bickham and mary they seem a bit old!!! But i think i will need to send for her marriage and birth cert to get more info.

Hi Sylvia. Not sure how much info you have. I see you have got the census records back to 1851 but some of this may help.

Elizabeth ANNA born 1879 April/June Qtr. reg in Williton. S Set. vol 5c 309

Marr 1902 April/June Qtr./ reg in Wellington. nvol 5c 499

Died 1904. Jan/Mar Qtr. reg in Taunton. vol 5c 239

On 1881 Eliz is shown as Grandaughter to Bickham, but on the 1891 she is shown as Daughter. born Stogumber.

The Marriage cert will give Father's name and occupations.

I think the Birth I have fo9und is the right one and that should give both parents and a chance to prove her parentage.

Cannot find them on 1901. Her second name varies from Hannah, Anna and Ann. Ethel.

possible marriage of Bickhams parents.

ok i have marriage cert it states: william besley aged 21 father stephen besley married elizabeth hannah waterman aged 23 father william waterman date: may 19th 1902 at the parish church of wiveliscombe somerset. witnessed by harry john waterman and ellen jordan(not sure if surname is right its a bit hard to read).
So above census are the wrong family!!! I think!!
