George Chadwin was born before registration, so you won't find a birth cert. The christening record is the best that you'll do.

I've read that in at least one census they were asked for the nearest biggest town to where they were born rather than the actual place, but I can't remember which census this was.

In 1871 George says he's from Basford which is about 12 miles from Bulwell..
Could have been registered as Basford which is the registry area for Bulwell

He married Elizabeth Chadwin in 1838 who had already had George, tjen
Jane was a Thompson.

However do you notice how George Chadwin is living with them 1841 - 1861. In 1861 he's recorded as Richard's son.

Trying to find the spouse and her parents of the wife of Richard Thompson born 1801 at Calverton or Oxton Notts 1801.His wife christain name is Elizabeth born circa 1806.
They had a daughter named Jane in 1846.
